1. Subcommittee Assignments 2002-2003
Lenny distributed the subcommittee
assignments. Among the many assignments are the lab inspection
teams. Each team must determine when it will inspect its assigned
lab areas in January or February. The actual inspections are usually completed
in one day. Team chairpersons should report their inspection schedules to
the Safety Committee at the December meeting (December 11, 2002).
2. Summer Lab Inspection Follow-ups:

3. Alarm Query
Lenny has received only one response to his request that everyone submit
information about alarms in their labs! Everyone must declare what alarms,
if any, exist in their lab areas. Safety Officers should have information
about alarms posted outside their labs.
4. Training Database
Lenny reported that most safety officers still have not created a user account
on our training database. He reminded everyone it is necessary that they do
so before the next meeting.
5. Standard Operating Procedures - due by Dec. 7th!
As mentioned at last month's meeting, all SOPs need to be updated. Safety
officers need to submit new SOPs to Lenny by December 7th. You can view all
of the SOPs on our web site at: http://www-safety.deas.harvard.edu/sop/chart.html
6. Laser Registration Forms - due now!
Lenny has not received the laser registration forms. People need to submit
them ASAP! You will find a link to the forms on the front page of our web
site Print them out, fill them out, and return them to Lenny!
7. EH&S Report
- Howard reminded everyone to contact EH&S if their group needs any training
in noise safety.
- Recently there was an emergency response drill in the hospital area. This
will be happening more often throughout the university.
- The Operation Center is trying to put together a database of contacts for
specific emergency alarms. People can submit contact names and alarm info
to the Operation Center.
8. Hazardous Waste Training
- Rob Stanhope read a list of names of people who need to update their online

- SAA inspections have helped. The latest report from EH&S shows that
we had only one violation last month.
