Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, January 9, 2002

1. Video - "Safety Awareness-The Gory Story" (9 minutes)
The video could not be viewed because the video player did not work.
2. 2000/2001 Lab Inspection Schedules - Team Chairs
- Team # 3 (Cruft/Pierce) - Alex Soldotov has scheduled his team's inspection
for January 30, 2002.
- Team # 4 (Lyman) - Gary Zabow volunteered to be the new Chair for team 4.
He will schedule an inspection date and notify Lenny.
- Teams that are making their inspections in January should be prepared to
give their report at the February meeting.
3. On-line Laser Training - Rob Stanhope
The video editing process is still plagued with software crashes. After we
receive the upgrade for Adobe Premiere, we hope to be able to finish the project.
4. EH&S Report
- Kate Thomas was introduced to the committee. She is the new replacement
for Henry Littleboy. Henry retires this month.
- HHS will be visiting Harvard in February to survey for select agents.
- EH&S will be using a new MSDS website.
- Science Center will be having a fire drill in February.
- There was a fire in a dorm kitchen in December. It was handled well; however,
some fire doors were left open. This is a reminder to be vigilent about fire
safety.
5. Hazardous Waste Training Report - Rob Stanhope
Rob reported that many people have not conpleted their online retraining
despite repeated reminders via email.
Rob also reported on some minor violations found during the monthly SAA inspections.
6. Old Business
- Evacuation Forms - We still have not received 11 evac. forms. Everyone must
turn them in!
- Select Agent Forms - have not received 7 forms. Everyone must turn them
in!
- Exhaust for Mazur Lab - Ed Jackson reported he has not received the quote.
7. New Business - none
