PROTECTIVE CLOTHING THAT MUST BE USED FOR ALL WORK:

GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING RULES:

WASTE DISPOSAL RULES:

Before any hazardous wastes can be disposed of, a satellite accumulation area must be established. There currently is none.

FUME HOOD USE:

There is no fume hood.

CHEMICAL STORAGE:

Chemicals are stored in the flameproof cabinet in Lyman 134.

SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIRED:

  1. All lab personnel who work with chemicals must take training in the use and disposal of chemicals.
  2. All lab personnel who use the drill press must first pass Stan's machine shop training.
  3. There are some high voltage supplies in the lab which should only be used with great care. Training will be provided by senior lab members.

CHEMICAL SPILL CLEAN-UP PROCEDURES:

  1. Small spills should be cleaned up by those in the lab.
  2. For large spills, clear the area of personnel and call the University Operations Center (5-5560).
