PROTECTIVE CLOTHING THAT MUST BE USED FOR ALL WORK:
- Safety Glasses - Must be employed when working with any process that
could throw off debris that would break non-safety glass.
- Face Shields - Must be worn when working with corrosives such as
strong acids or bases, for instance Pirhana Solution.
- Rubber Boots - N/A
- Safety Goggles - Must be worn at all times in this room. Goggles
alone are insufficient if splashing of chemicals could occur--in such a case,
also wear a face shield.
- Aprons - Must be worn when working with corrosives such as strong
acids or bases. When working with HF, wear the neoprene apron and arm protectors.
- Gloves - When working with HF, wear both Latex gloves and neoprene
over-gloves. When working with chemicals or other materials that warrant the
use of protective gloves (such as work with cryogens), proper glove selection
is critical. For other specific glove type vs. chemical, see http://www-safety.deas.harvard.edu
under "Safety Committee Services." If there is any question, see
Lenny Solomon.
