- Safety Glasses - Must be employed while using lathe, drill press, grinder, or band saw.
- Face Shields - N/A
- Rubber Boots - N/A
- Safety Goggles - N/A
- Aprons - N/A
- Gloves - N/A
- Steel-toed Shoes - N/A
- Respirators - N/A
- Laser Safety Goggles - Must be worn when working with open lasers.
- Other - N/A
GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING RULES:
- Solvents should be stored on lab benches only when in active use; otherwise store in storage cabinet.
- Avoid clutter.
WASTE DISPOSAL RULES:
Store waste solvent in tagged container housed in tray.
FUME HOOD USE: N/A
CHEMICAL STORAGE:
Flammable liquids stored in cabinet. (No acids or bases.)
SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIRED:
Training mandatory for machine-shop use and for use of open lasers.
CHEMICAL SPILL CLEAN-UP PROCEDURES:
- Clean up small spills. Location of nearest spill kit: Room 323.
- For large spills, clear the area of personnel and cll the University Operations Center (5-5560).
OTHER RELEVANT COMMENTS:
- Operate laser in Room 407A only with door shut.
- Always "ask first" before attempting to take any action that might be hazardous.
